So Long Singapore

After a week of traveling, experiencing, and enjoying the company of old & new friends you would think Christie and I might be ready for a relaxing evening.
OR
Was it time to rally for one more fabulous night out?
Rally.
We settled into Clarke Quay for our final evening.  An area packed with eateries, bars, live music, and the perfect place for my Splits Around the World appearance!
Christie showcased her Jumps Round the World!
We stayed at the Park Regis in Clark Quay, the staff was competent and helpful, the overall vibe was quiet, clean and well kept.

We loved that they had a twin bedroom option.  Our bright splashes of orange cheered us up, as did the humming from outside our window...
Another temple was down below! They hummed us to slumber for a small disco nap, enabling us to roll out and rock on.

Hanging pool side didn't hurt either!

We did a few refreshing laps, read our books, and delighted in a bit of very quiet time.

But enough quiet.  We put our party frocks on and went out to take on the night!
The area was jam packed with people, music, and great energy.

Christie and I discovered Fern and Kiwi on the outskirts of the Clarke Quay area and found several delicious options.  That night they had a great live acoustic duo.  We enjoyed a few original songs as well as fabulous covers of Adele and indie rock.  The New Zealand beef and venison sliders went down quickly, as did the slow poached bartlett pear salad and rustic hand cut fries.
You can check out more of Fern and Kiwi on their website.

Well-dressed women!

I tried the Pure Blonde (natch) beer along with Mac's Great White, both of which are New Zealand brewed and receive my sincere stamp of approval.
Great night, thanks Fern and Kiwi!
We walked off our full bellies after dinner, just enough to fit in my very first cannoli! We had a reminiscent Tom Hank's in Big moment as we tried out the fortune telling Lion.  Christie received a great reading, unfortunately Mr. Lion ate my money and did not procure a fortune:( The future remains a mystery.

As we walked back to the hotel via a gorgeously illuminated bridge, arm in arm and smiling onto the bustle beyond, I just felt so grateful.
This is the first BIG international-all-planned-by-us girl trip I have taken, and it was fantastic.
I carry away such great memories from our week, and feel even closer to my C.
From one country to another, having a girlfriend vacation is definitely something I can see myself doing in the future.  There is a bond between women that can't be easily shaken.  I am lucky to have Christie as my friend.  You are FABULOUS lady, and I love you.
